KEC International Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder for the supply and commissioning of standard gauge ballasted track for New ISBT Depot of Patna Metro after DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) opened financial bids for this contract on July 16.
The New ISBT Depot will be utilized to maintain and stable metro trains for Line-1 (16.86 km) and Line-2 (14.05 km) under Phase-1 of Patna Metro. The contract for its construction was awarded to Quality Buildcon for a value of INR 143.35 Crores in December 2020. However, the construction process for the depot got delayed due to a land acquisition issue and now land acquisition has started with construction activities to begin from September.
DMRC invited tenders for this ballasted track contract in January this year with an approximate cost of work to be INR 17.97 Crores and a completion period of 24 months. Technical bids were opened in March which revealed the names of five bidders. Later, three bidders were disqualified based on technical evaluation and the financial bid values of the remaining two bidders are given.
