The people of Leongatha must be wondering what they've done wrong not being included on Jacinta Allan's Transport Advisory Groups towns to visit. After all, if the Advisory Group can make it to Wonthaggi the question must be asked and answered by Jacinta Allan, 'Why can't the Advisory Group meet and with the residents of Leongatha in Leongatha?'
The Leongatha residents have been lobbying and advocating for the return of their passenger train, since boy wonder Premier Steve Bracks was in office and even promised the Leongatha people that he would return their passenger train service to them.
A vacuous promise by Steve Bracks and the Labor Party that built up the hopes and aspirations of the town's residents. Leongatha's population is growing as is the region and the reintroduction of a passenger rail service will meet the commuter needs of the town and make it more attractive for business and economic development.
