The connection between the two capitals, which will have an estimated journey time of eight hours, is expected to start in late 2021.

Services will operate using modern rolling stock featuring air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and power sockets. The service will operate over 1520mm-gauge and standard gauge lines.

PKP IC says the newly planned service is based on a long-term strategy to work with Lithuanian Railways, including establishing long distance services.
