Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has today unveiled the rolling stock train model for Mumbai Metro Line-3 in presence of Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director and other senior officers of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC). Mumbai Metro line 3 has been given the Aqua color. This line will be known as Aqua line and the exterior & interior of the metro trains will be colored accordingly.
A total 31 trains of 8 coaches are to be manufactured by consortium of Alstom Transportation India and Alstom SA under ‘Make in India‘ initiative of the Central Governemnt at Alstom’s facility located in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh.
The rolling stock train will have features like driverless train operations, HVAC, LCD screens, digital map indicator, fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, voice communicators for emergency, Public Address systems & dedicated wheel chair area for specially abled people.

Explaining the features of train and theme, Ashiwini Bhide, Managing Director of MMRC, said,
The Aqua green colour of Mumbai Metro 3 rolling stock represents water & the sea waves which are an integral part of Mumbai & further signifies the freshness and speed of the waves as well as of this city which never sleeps and is always on move. The soothing beige colour signifies comfort.
