The changes are a part of the Authority’s broader modernization efforts, including the Culver Line Signal Modernization Project, which will improve the reliability and resiliency of subway service in the borough. The MTA will also use the November and December track outages to make critical repairs to upgrade signaling and track interlocking systems, replacing key track switches south of the Bergen St station and south of the Kings Highway station. Once completed, this work will ultimately provide the MTA with the ability to more seamlessly reroute service at times when unplanned disruptions arise or when planned service changes for construction of maintenance are in effect.

The service impacts begin to take effect the evening of Monday, Nov. 15, and will conclude in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24.
