Train operator c2c have launched a new money-saving train ticket for people planning to take a seaside break in Southend, or maybe a long weekend in London.
Providing a cheap return option, the Mini Break ticket is a cheap return option for passengers who are staying away up to three nights.
The new ticket works out around 25% cheaper than two Anytime day singles and is available for limited destinations in London and to Southend only.
To help with the increase in passenger numbers during the summer holidays, additional off-peak trains are running. Between Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street via Basildon, there are 4 trains an hour in operation until September.
The train operator is also running a competition in conjunction with the Holiday Inn Stratford to celebrate the launch of the new ticket. You can find out more over on the c2c website.

c2c Commercial Director Clare McCaffrey said: “This is the first time we have offered a discounted return ticket that isn’t restricted to on-the-day return only. We are confident this special summer ticket will be popular with customers wishing to recharge their batteries on a break to London or to the South Essex coast.”
Rochford and Southend East MP James Duddridge, said: “Tourism is going to play a key part in helping Southend to build back better from the pandemic, and I welcome c2c’s new Mini Break ticket, which will further boost our town’s staycation appeal. Not only that, local people will also benefit from cheaper travel to London if they fancy a stay over in the Capital for a few days this summer.”
Daniella Boden, Director of Sales and Marketing for the hotel, said: “Holiday Inn London Stratford City are excited to be launching the mini break competition with c2c trains to showcase all Stratford City and our hotel has to offer for the perfect mini break in East London.”
