Statement from Ixion Model Railways Ltd
While things have been cooling down outside, they’re heating up in the train room as we pick up where we left off on old projects or start new ones. Whether it’s a work in progress or you’re just enjoying your layout, we’d love to see what you’re working on! Take a few photos and post them on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
This week brings in some amazing modeling, just click on the links below to see and share these and other modeling projects!
Art Imitates Life
Inspiration is everywhere! Whether creating a scene from your imagination or replicating a prototype, today’s printed and online resources open a world of possibilities. Check out this awesome scene by Robert Mountenay and the period photo that inspired it!
The Heat of the Night
Darkness brings little relief from summer’s heat and humidity, but in a few minutes passengers will be relaxing in air-conditioned comfort. We wouldn’t mind having a Pullman roomette aboard this streamliner, as long as there’s time to explore Alan Swartley’s layout during the station stop!
This is Your Hometown
Many of us first discovered railroading a few blocks from home. Growing up, we rode our bikes to the nearest crossing, watched passing trains from the windows, or lay in bed, listening to far off whistles in the night. Stop by Joey Williams’ layout based on his hometown in the 1960s and 70s to rekindle your memories!
South American mountain railroading
An EMD SD70 leads a freight downgrade through this impressive mountain scene. Poster @choo_chooho shot this video on his HO scale Southern Peru Copper Corp. layout.
Even late at night this corner of the neighborhood is always busy on Mike Robles’ (@mrbuilt) model railroad. Mike kitbashed various structures and installed interior and exterior lighting to bring this urban scene to life.
We hope you enjoy these scenes and discussions as much as we enjoy bringing them to you!
