Push Gathers Steam to Restore a Historic Loco
J515 Updates from the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre
Rare Arnott's biscuit van restored
It has been confirmed that Ex-LNER ‘A4’ No. 60009 ‘Union of South Africa’ has unfortunately failed once again.
The locomotive is currently parked in Kings Langley Loop, where it has been since 15:30 this afternoon.
The A4 has unfortunately failed with a recurrence of the tender axlebox problem which has caused two other failures in the past two weeks.
60009 will be moving soon from Kings Langley to Watford Yard.
This movement will allow the locomotive, tender and support coach to be split and be transported by road back to Bury in the next few days.
Nothing else has been said – apart from that the tour tomorrow will be diesel hauled.
We will update you as soon as we know anything.
