A taskforce that was supposed to explore new light rail lines in Sydney was quietly buried after the state election without formally meeting.
The taskforce was the idea of the former transport minister Carl Scully, who lost the portfolio after the election in March. Instead, light rail planning has been taken over by the Planning, Infrastructure and Natural Resources Department under Craig Knowles. A spokesman for Mr Knowles said: "The taskforce isn't going ahead."
