3016 and 3265 battle it out as they race away from East Maitland with "The Great Train Race" from Warrabrook to Maitland.
In 2013, 3016 from the ARHS ACT stepped in to replace 3830 which was out of action due to major repairs.
This event was is a major part of the annual Hunter Valley Steam Festival, an event where steam locomotives from across the state come to strut their stuff!
The NSW Rail Transport Museum brought 3 Heritage Steam locomotives (3642, PHM's 3265 & ARHS ACT's 3016), 3 Heritage Diesels (44211, 4520 & 4490) along with assorted "Southern Aurora"/Wooden stock carriages up from Thirlmere to Maitland to operate heritage trains around the area.
