Coal was railed from Leigh Creek to Port Augusta for 60 years to fuel the power stations at the later location, the last 'coalie' entering the power station on 27 April 2016.
Approximately half way through its life, a pair of Australian National 600 class ALCos (not regular power on this train) approach Stirling North with 80 gondolas loaded with low grade Leigh Creek coal.
