The East Coast mainline runs from London to Edinburgh and then on up to Aberdeen. The total length of the whole route is 393 miles. The section covered in this TS2015 route expansion pack runs from Newcastle to Edinburgh - a distance of approximately 125 miles.

At a time when US locomotive builders were vying for more horsepower, General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division introduced the new generation GP30 that was later to become a hugely successful diesel-electric locomotive for many US Class I railroads.
Seen as the answer to competitors’ more powerful diesel locomotives, General Motors’ EMD GP30 was considered one of the first so-called ‘second generation’ diesel locomotives produced by the company. General Electric had already stolen the march on 2,500hp locomotives with its U25B, and although the GP20 was only rated at 2,250hp, EMD traded on its reputation to sell units to US railroads.

The route is based on the original Furusato Ginga Line in Hokkadio, Japan with the landscape and route placement the same as that route but with changed station names and a new fictional town to allow the telling of the story of the route through the scenarios.
This beautiful route, adorned with custom-built Japanese objects, includes 15 stations and has one main line and one branch line, with a total length of around 135km.

The New South Wales Planning Minister Pru Goward has defended the government's decision to allow residential and commercial development in the Newcastle rail corridor.
If the State Government is permitted to remove the rail line, Civic station will be demolished to open the precinct up to the harbour and buildings will be contructed along the corridor.

A rail line in eastern Iowa reopened on Saturday following a freight train derailment that sent three cars tumbling into the Mississippi River, spilling ethanol fuel in the water, Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) said.
Thirteen cars and two engines went off the tracks after the derailment on Wednesday in a remote location north of Dubuque, Iowa, the company said.
