Ain't it amazing, everytime there is a problem someone always has to jump up and say "get rid of them" or "scrap them"
Or maybe "We need an Inquiry" (Yep spend more $$$$ rather than fixing the problem)
I find it unbelievable to hear that any
metal on metal vehicle does not have sanding equipment as a standard feature
Someone, somewhere in the depths of the department who ordered these trams wrote a specification for them. It seems obvious that those with the power have specified to a price rather than to a need.
A sanding system? a couple of thousand per tram
Suitable airconditioning system, maybe another few grand?
User programmable destination boards? Dayum.... we have them on all the buses!!!
Little items, that to someone were a just a dollar sign,
In two words ........ penny pinching
If people want to scream for another costly inquiry ....... then it should be about the apparent inability of those in our public service to write an proper Specification
