Previously, the JP would only show a news alert that there were buses replacing trains, and passengers had to refer to the PDF timetable poster provided by Metro. This wasn’t very useful for anyone planning to make a multi-vehicle journey during rail replacement weekends, especially if trying to plan a trip that involved transferring connecting to an infrequent bus or V/line service.
These timetables are based on the circulars issued by Metro which means the bus is shown slightly earlier than it may arrive at intermediate stations, but these times shown on the station posters anyway. The bus departures from St Albans & Clifton Hill have been adjusted by one minute, so the journey planner recognises the connection (it normally allows a 5 minute connection between services).
Unfortunately, there are some problems with the software showing the connecting services in an incorrect order, but otherwise I think it’s a notable improvement on what was previously available (i.e. just the news item and PDF poster).
