Fools and their money are soon parted, it could well be a scam for all we know. Not saying it is, but it sure looks that way to most, dodgy website with very little info, spider sense is tingling.

They try just about anything to get personal info about you or money so indeed be buyer beware, me thinks.

S class
C class
A class
M class

Websites are not that expensive Wink
"VRfan"

Its not the website that would require serious investment its the coughing up for so much tooling.

Unusual for a newby to come out swinging in such a manner. Most often they start with one. Make some money, amortise that investment and move to next.

Seems odd ..thats all
"SPSD40T2"

Who says they are injection moulded plastic? There isn't stopping anyone from making limited-run models in hand finished resin or brass.

Yes Newington, I checked that as well, and that made the old spider sense tingle a lot more. You would at least think that they would have something on there to at least explain who they are and what to expect or something at least. Shocked

C'mon, don't be chicken about this. http://www.aussieho.com.au/httpL/www.aussieho.com.au is not the url to the home page. If they cannot get that right, what else don't they get right.

caveat emptor applies, methinks
"574M"

I assume the company is in the business of producing model trains - a completely different skill set from web development.

Now, if you were looking for a web developers and their website didn't work correctly, then you might get worried.

I wondered that too - but they have a presence on facebook as well - where it does actually say

"Filling the Gap in Australian HO Model Railways
Manufactures Plastic RTR models in HO Scale of Australian Prototype".

But not a great deal more is given away there either.

AUSSIE HO... yeah funny

Can't find it on the business name search on the ASIC website.  It would be nice to see an ABN or ACN. Or even a street address.  It has to be treated as a gag site until then.

Agree, they are taking us ofr a ride, are not genuine, a gag, a joke.

I would not give 'em a cent until they are check out.

For there is a strong market for those items they have listed.  There is interest. So in these days of the internet and how such a fake page can be easily made, we are skeptical.

If it is legit I suppose our knocking is too quick too fast. But we do not want to lose money and ar eplaying very safe.

How to prove their company - a problem indeed.

Brian -  check them out properly before committing.

And yes I'm interested in the Velocities - so I prefer to be proven to be making a mouintain out of a lump of #%$#% and be proven wrong.

Otherwise a neet topic and our reactions are all different it seems.

I see not defence from the peple concerned on any forum so far.

I await to see what transpires !!

We are a suspicious lot indeed.

However as we have not seen anything like such a sting before, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt, and wait and see what happens Wink

I don't think anybody is going to throw any money at them just yet, and I doubt if they will, till the people behind it announce who they really are. My guess is that all will be revealed at Caulfield in a weeks time.
I actually have my suspicions too Wink

As Rod says, all will be revealed at Caulfield - if they are legit.

If they aren't already lined up for Caulfield, then someone has to invite them.  If they don't show up, then they're outed as a fraud or (at best) a well-meaning big thinker who advertised about a year too quickly.

I think they need to do research before stating about XRB's. Considering that XRB classes do not have controls so they CANNOT be moved around the yard on there own...

Having worked with the XRB's, they do not have any hostler controls fitted or have any provisions for them to be fitted. There is no air brake to cut out - all they have is a dead engine device and a parkbrake button.

Whilst it could all be on the up and up   Rolling EyesConfused  there are elements about even the strategy which dont make a lot of business sense to me.

Theres no link to cars, so one assumes they arent available yet ( if ever..like rest..lol )

With the XRB, Vlos and Sprinter youre looking at 4 mould set ups. Happy to be corrected but Id imagine not much change for 350-400 G  to get those rolling.

If I were to look at this  ( as just a someone )  Youd pick the Sprinter..and 2 car Vlo as possible inital offerings.  Only 2 moulds .

Once youve got some money coming in and paid for the steel... yo could then release the middle vlo car...  Many woud be happy to get the 2 car set first ...then add.

anyhows..

Its all a bitt iffy for mine

My opinion is this is a scam. They appear to offer online payment but few details. As others have said quite desirable models as well (Sprinter, Velocity). If something sounds to good to be true that'd probably because it is. I am very happy to be wrong tho.

I will watch with interest.

The company in question hasn't advertised or promoted itself, all references to it have been via 3rd parties (in my case I only mentioned it on the yahoo group as someone kept asking about Z cars). Maybe its a scam, maybe it's a yr12 kid doing his school project, maybe its a real company getting ready to promote itself.

Having said that, all indications are the company is based in victoria however the trading name "aussie ho" doesn't appear to be registered yet. That doesn't mean it's a scam, it could be the application is being processed right now.  Until the company start actively promoting itself it would be best to just wait and see where things lead.
