CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the Airport & East Hills, Bankstown and North Shore Lines from the City due to emergency track equipment repairs at Newtown. Delays of up to 25 minutes can be expected. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the North Shore Line from the City due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Central earlier. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.

Some trains on the Bankstown, Inner West and South Lines are delayed up to 15 minutes due to overhead wiring repairs at Auburn Earlier.

Blue Mountains Line  - Delays

On the Blue Mountains Line the 6.39am Central to Mount Victoria is up to 25 minutes late. Additionally the 7.37am Lithgow to Central will be replaced by a bus between Lithgow and Mount Victoria due to emergency overhead wiring repairs at Auburn earlier.

Trains travelling away from Bondi Junction on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line are delayed up to 10 minutes due to emergency signal equipment repairs at Edgecliff.

Newcastle & Central Coast and Hunter Lines - Part suspended

 
 
Trains have been suspended on the Hunter and Newcastle & Central Coast Lines between Broadmeadow and Newcastle in both directions due to emergency signal equipment repairs at Newcastle. Bus companies have been contacted to operate a replacement service. Passengers are advised to delay their journey.

Well, some people may be hoping that the section would be permanently suspended for profits.

CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the Inner West Line from the City due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Redfern earlier.

If my sources are correct 292 run on the up Western somehow derailed near P1 at St Marys

Edit:Sketchy reports suggest something fouling the points off a freighter and not enough time to warn the driver..

Trains Penrith-Lithgow-Penrith and Central-Blacktown- Central , a estimated time of the line re-opening at 1600.

Western Line  - Part suspended

 
 
Trains are suspended on the Blue Mountains and Western Lines between Penrith and Blacktown due to derailment of a train at St Marys. Buses are now replacing trains between Penrith and Blacktown. Passengers are able to use their tickets on Busways services between St Marys and Blacktown Westbus services between Mount Druitt and Penrith. 20 minute flow on delays are being experienced on some trains on the North Shore Line as a result of the derailment at St Marys.

Tracker has only recorded 2 check-in's out of the museum today. A few hours ago it showed 6S24 north of Picton, then heading back up towards the Museum. Someone may be able to confirm if she did infact head out or not.

Been confirmed that the locomotive hasnt left. The crew were alerted just before being given the road so they are waiting out the accident back at the Museum. A night run to Valley Heights is on the cards.

Trains have resumed in both directions between Blacktown and Penrith on the Western and Blue Mountains lines after a derailment at St Marys earlier. Some services are delayed up to 15 minutes so passengers are advised to listen to announcements and check indicator boards until trains return to timetable.

Have heard varying reports ranging from a traction motor to a piece of metal falling off the freighter , with the up service striking whatever the object was.

Freighter with EL & GL up front seen on the UP heading through Parramatta @ 1505hrs might be the culpurit.
