Bellarine Railway

I came across the video 639 has posted. I linked it here but no matter what I do the link fails for me, so I've given up. Anyway, good to see some money thrown at a tourist railway!

I could've sworn there was a thread for the BR but the search function isn't working and I'm not trawling further than 5 pages to check. So anyways... I came across this on youtube. Good to see some funding thrown at a tourist railway.

It's good to see the government supporting tourist/ heritage operators. Much better than the alternative.

Yes it is great to see some assistance for the Bellarine Railway. I think I am correct in saying the cost of these two crossing light/booms was over $700,000.
There are plenty more projects at the Bellarine. Like most tourist railways, there are a number of items planned and underway.
There is the steady re-laying of reclaimed rail in the Queenscliff/Lakers Siding section. As many will know, this rail was lifted and transported from the Fyansford branch, made available by Victrack. Over the last 6 months or so there has been heritage lighting installed at Queenscliff and Lakers Siding. The Lakers station building has been fitted out as a recreated small county station building and a large gangers shed been built and fitted out also at Lakers. Heritage VR style seating has been installed at Queenscliff and Lakers.
I believe there will be open days on the first week-end in May as part of Queenscliff 150 years celebrations. Might be a good chance to check out recent achievements including conducted tours of the engine shed.....and the T is back in service. Wonderful

Now if Victrack would only fund the restoration of the Queenscliff station building....and then there's the transport and restoration of the ASG and.....and......

Ventured out to the Bellarine Heritage Railway that runs from Queenscliff to Drysdale to photograph T251 and it's train.
T251, formerly S.A.R which is a 4-8-0 was built by Walkers in Qld in 1917.

T251 has just cut off it's train after arriving at Drysdale and is in the process of running around for the 'tender first' return trip back to Queenscliff. Sun 10/11/2013.

Indeed.  The locomotive does not appear in the database as a search for T251 reveals. Who is best to add this data to the locomotive section? http://www.railpage.com.au/locos
