No, Allan, you aren't! Unfortunately, it wasn't noticed until today, so no chance of fixing it. Sad

Unfortunately, our final proofreader left recently and I haven't been able to find a replacement yet. (Though I have just had a volunteer, who will be 'trialled' shortly!)

Of all the things to mis-spell, Auscision is one of the worst!

James,

Take solace in the fact that anything that gets people talking....is good publicity!!!

Got mine in the post yesterday afternoon - well ahead of when I was expecting it! Looking forward to reading it soon.

I've been a keen follower of Andrew's Glenburn layout, it'll be nice to see it in print.

I should be your proof reader, I recently purchased 250 or so back issues and trawled through them a dozen times. There are mistakes in every one.

Any book, paper or magazine printer will tell you that if a deliberately published mistake is included in a publication it will stop the accidental mistakes from happening. Some old time printers even went as far as putting in a deliberate mistake in case of. Printers are a superstitious lot.

Well there is the famous case of the "Murderers Bible" where the not was left out of the Commandment "Thou shall not kill", AMRM has a way to go to beat that I think.

Has anyone seen the magazine in any newsagents yet? I have been to two, one of which has a lot of railway ones and it isn't at either. Thanks.

Bah! 18 years in the industry, never a printers job to read the stuff they're printing. Just look at the colours and make it look nice 'n' bright, make the black black and, check the registration Smile

Yes people, the finger of blame goes to the person who signed the final digital proofs off. Just who was that person James?Wink

Not sure if it still applies, but I was told some time ago that there is an official release date attached to the AMRM and that sellers are encouraged not to put out the mag for sale before this official release date even if they receive it early. All to do with reversing the farcical situation that used to exist where the mag was available in hobby shops and newsagents before subscribers had received theirs.

Willing to be corrected if this is not the case.

However, no longer in the trade nowadays. Moved on to another career. Printing is an industry living on borrowed time unfortunately.

Thumpa, do you still have all your fingers?, printers are notorious for cleaning crap from moving plates on the run.

Ah yeah, still got them all but, I know exactly what you mean. That was a common "cheat" on the GTO (stomach churns thinking about now).
IIRC, all the other presses had hickey pickers fitted that I ran.
