My beef is trying with mouse to hover over to log in: it is so sensitive to the slightest waver when signing in and the box disappears. I may be to arthritic on the controls but would like the system more user friendly.

There is a login form on the right hand side of the home page, or else you can go to http://www.railpage.com.au/login

Composed a super-long nazi-pm to a mod not too long ago and borked the RTE when I went to paste a long message into it. Using "View Source" mode. Did the same in not-so-literate mode too.

The RP Search function is still not working. The little icon goes round and round and round, and never asks for the search string.

This refers to the "Search" button on the top bar next to the "Donate" button.

It worked for me the other day, but it didn't find what I was looking for.

I reported that a while back. If I close the browser (Firefox 21) and open it again the site behaves as it should.

I find that when on Railpage, using IE10, that the back button seems unresponsive. I often have to click it several times to get a response. Does not seem to happen on other sites.

I get this too, using Firefox 21.  The solution (for me) is to right-click on the Search button, and Open Link in New Tab.  Then it works.

Did you logout before closing the browser?  I am also using FF 21, and when logged in, it correctly says "Logged in as Lad_Porter".  If I then logout, close FF, open it again, go to Railpage, and open Forums without logging in, it will say "Logged in as" then a space, followed by the Search button.

Tried to add some info to this thread (http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11354186.htm) about Heavy Test Vehicle 2000 but received an error re cannot accept due to all caps in title issue. Is it still possible to add to this thread?

Angle-brackets are impossible to post.

In the election thread, I quoted The Australian quoting Tony Windsor quoting Tony Abbott. I included a "French quotation" within the quote-block. Many people will know what the words really were.

Initially, I wrote left-angle-bracket words that the smeg-filter will remove right-angle-bracket. When I realised that the end of what I wanted to quote was missing from the final post, I edited the post and replaced it with ampasand l t semi-colon words that the smeg-filter will remove ampasand g t semi-colon. The words were still missing from the amended quote-block. Maybe the site really doesn't like his language.

It looks like the vertical stroke / piping-character is also removed.

I am still getting the problem I posted earlier, where the browser back button is unresponsive. It happens on menus only, and at times I have had to click the back button up to 8 or so times before it responds. If you want and example, go into the lounge, click on a subject, then come back out using the back button, then try and get out of the lounge.

Tried your example with Firefox 22, and it worked perfectly, no problem at all.  The Back button took me out of the subject, then out of the Lounge, then out of the Forums.  I only had to click it once each time.

As it's a parsing issue (Server side), it'll appear on any browser.

STRANGE CHARACTERS IN TEXT AND TITLES.

Can something be done to prevent strange characters appearing, such as the following title, in the "Lounge" post?

A plummeting Russian rocket’s toxic fuel cloud just shut down the world’s busiest space port

This also appears in RP's email advise messages.
