The new arrangement is hopeless for passengers changing platforms. There was no need to go so deep into the concourse. The new myki barriers should have been placed on an angle to get more room. And one of the readers has had to be permanently placed out of service as people, who had not touched on before starting their journey, could lean over the railing, touch on and then touch off and thereby get a free trip through a change of mind transaction. Just another example of build first and think second. No, all they need to do is make the NW barrier exit-only. You can't reach the IN validator on the SW barrier from inside the validated area, because it's on the far side.
And I agree about the kiosk. It was easily the best in Melbourne, probably anywhere, in terms of quality and price. Best chips by a mile. I would sometimes deliberately break my journey just to pick something up. Now it's only high priced crap from nearby outlets. A metaphor for myki perhaps.
