Hard to say what the plans are for the actual Glenreagh station sight as a whole. The groups main hurdle like all other groups is to sort out and conform to the new regulations.
In the very general scheme of things I have the feeling the group wants to get Glenreagh cleared up and reopening the line between Glenreagh and Glenreagh west.
I am relocating up to the area in a couple of months and was planning to join up with the group, if I do at least I can post unbiased comments....c
I would be very doubtful if GMR will be extending from Glenreagh West into Glenreagh Station Yard at any time in the foreseeable future, if only because of the reconstruction works that would be required, quite apart from the necessary paperwork with ARTC. GMR has more than enough on its plate at the present time, not only with the Safety Regulator, but with a bridge washaway on the section towards Lowanna.
Not only is the turntable in an unusable state, so is all the branch line track into the station yard, not to mention the station building itself! There would be no need to use the turntable anyhow, as the only other facility on the branch is at Dorrigo, well beyond GMR's boundary. For what it is worth, 1919 already faces in the down direction, right for the climb, if or when the washed out bridge can be rebuilt.
