For those here that insist on bagging any improvements, delays etc with Adelaide Metro, have you any experience in the real world of railway operations and delays in delivery??
I know some here do, or have professional qualifications to comment with the benefit of that knowledge, some others it may pay to read and take note at times!!
Delays happen with near every delivery, you only have to look to Sydney to see how big delays can be, can anyone remember the Millenium cars, scheduled for 2000, commenced operation 2002, or maybe the rebuild program for the former CL/AL locos at Morrrison Knudsen?
Our A cars are a brand new design, for which all the jigs etc have to be built, and issues arising from design shortcomings/conflicts have to be addressed, it far easier to do this at Dandenong than get them here and have to put them back on a truck to send them back.
Finally I doubt there is any "juice" in overhead here yet so they couldn't be tested even if they where here!!
Now I will put on my safety helmet and duck to dodge incoming rocks and knives.....
