Your push-pull train is the rice train that is running to Tocumwal at present thanks to RRL works.

Good luck to them. They not only have to compete with road but they have to fight Metro and the system................Sad. Rail is not meant to succeed in this environment.

I will find pics online.
I work in container related (handling) industry and don't know of these.

The 10'6" were built as tautliner and generals. The 12'2" were only built in a 20' length and designed for ADE>DRW traffic. FCL Transport built them but, since being bought by Linfox, have been sold off.

9'10"?  Is that a new container size?

I know of 8'6" and 9'6" containers.

Some Frt Forwarders maximised container hts away from ISO stds to be used Melb - Sydney on lower deck wagons with a "deck" ht of 1020mm.
Remember the AQDW and VQDWs. The W stood for a lower level bogie as against the X types in bogie exchange service that had larger wheels and higher wagon interfacing. The wagons you see being used for the present trains were "low level" on sg but now have old bg X bogies and thus the deck ht has been raised. Wait a few months and we will see what happens.

I have seen a number of PN trains with about 80% of the boxes are 9'10 (or 3m) high. A lot are 48'ers.

It's a great development - is the 1100 class loco new or just transferred from somewhere else? Qube seem pretty keen on using the Maryvale business to underpin separate intermodal traffic - so at last there is an operator willing to have a go in building up freight out of Gippsland.

NFI. in fact, I wouldn't know an 1100 if I fell over one. I recognise it as something that is not usual in these parts.

I wonder how much pressure Qube will put on Australian Paper to upgrade the spur line? After all, AP own it!!!

1100's are mainly NSW based so that might be why you dont recognise it...

A Chris Walters pic.

There is also a rumor that more 1100's have been ordered, but I dont know how many. One may come from this new order.

In the Latrobe Valley Express 21/10 it is reported QUBE will be running more services, does any body know what locos will be used he photo shows 1100 class, but I am not sure if that is just the journalist.

I think you'll find the 1100 was just a "Qube loco" picture, as none of them are going to BG any time soon, as far as I'm aware.

Yes, and it goes into Swanson Dock whenever. Seems to go there on a Saturday night now instead of Thursday morning now.

Is this movement to park or store the train or are Qube now using the dock for containers?
