I am arriving in Longreach today. Dos anyone have any infomation on what train run through Longreach.I'm not 100% certain, but other than the "Spirit of the Outback" which terminates at Longreach the only other possibility I can think of is CattleTrains.

I saw a container train at Longreach station a couple of months ago. I may have been some abandoned wagons with containers on them though.

Yer there's still some container wagons with container on a siding at Longreach.
Also the cattle train has left Longreach. Its headed for Winton.

Do any coal or ore trains pass Longreach

No coal or ore through Longreach these days, but there's a once or twice weekly freight that carries a fair bit of gypsum from Winton. The gypsum is moved in grey containers with green tarps and heads up to North Queensland. The Mt Isa line is the line you want to head to out that way to see ore and concentrate trains (about fifteen trains a day) or you have to head east past Emerald to see coalies on the Central Line.

I wish I could head up to the mount Isa line but I have to go to Winton then back to south Australia need to be back down there by Saturday or Sunday night

I am arriving in Longreach today. Dos anyone have any infomation on what train run through Longreach.The Spirit of the Outback goes there twice a week, there is one freight train a week and 3 cattle trains a week.

As said other then the SOTO there wouldonly be cattle trains. I think there is a once or tiwce monthly freigh train to Winton but thats about it ?
