AR Kits Main West NSWGR 48 Class Mech

Hi All.

I finally got around to ordering a new mech from Al at AR kits to replace a deceased powerline one (Not sure how you bend every axle AND the motor shaft on a driven bogie, but that's how it came to me). I realise that there are newer versions avalable, and more to possibly come, but it seemed a waste to not use a perfectly good body in excellent condition.

Has anyone had any experience in installing these that they'd like to share, particularly when it comes to installing sound decoders?

Thanks in advance,

P.

Good luck with a sound decoder in the 48! I have used 8 AR mechs in all my 48s. With all the supplied weight added for traction there doent leave a lot of room for DCC. I had to use a N scale decoder for it to fit, let alone a speaker.

I wish you well with the sound option andplease keep us up to date as I am very slowly being bitten by the sound bug Smile
