    This station had a name change early in its life. It's original name was used for another station on the line.
    The line is now closed.
    A loco water tank still remains.

    Not Mannerim nor Triholm

    Mortlake is sorta, kinda, near a lake (3km or so to a small one), the junction is Mortlake Junction, the station is Terang.

    Although the branch to Yarrawonga ( Lake Mulawa ) does continue to Oaklands , so maybe not !

    Burrumbeet? The racecourse branch terminated near the lake, Burrumbeet still has Vlocities, and the junction was  a short distance from the station (but far enough to warrant a short staff section when in use)

    Burrumbeet was the first thought which flashed through my mind, but was rejected because I thought the junction was at the station. Turned out one part of my brain was thinking Burrumbeet, while the other was thinking Bungaree, where the racecourse line did branch at the station.

    OK, nice and open to start with, but a second clue will be along fairly quickly.

    This station has/had a gated level crossing
