Steamrail Victoria Double R's to Castlemain & Bendigo 7 September

    Rapidly approaching in the annual tour to Maldon with a change of trains at Castlemaine.

    It's really important that we get behind our heritage tours and support these groups.

    Shame you are unable to attend.

    Unfortunately, the fares are as cheap as possible as there are many costs involved in running these tours. There is also the Victorian Goldfields Railway component that has to be covered as well.

    The more that attend these tours, the more carriages we can factor onto tours - hence a cheaper per head seat.

    Does any one have running times?

    I am curious to know when it will be passing through Gisborne on the down and up runs as I will be in the area that day.

    Having just returned from following the train to Bendigo and back it has been a great day.  The train looked magnificent. The R's looked and sounded great all day. Video and pics in the process of being sorted.

    After spending a period of time at Taradale Loop waiting to allow V Line trains to pass in both directions, R761-R707 make their way toward the legendary Elphinstone tunnel and putting on the expected impressive show in the process :
