Brownlow tonight. Hard to look past Ablett, but I think I'll sneak $10 on Sam Mitchell @ $7.

Looking forward to watching the Grand Final tomorrow. It might be Lance Franklin's last game for Hawthorn as he might be moving to GWS.

Think Hawthorn will win by 2 points, but I won't be upset if the Dockers win.

Freo fans wouldn't want a replay that's for sure!

It might be time for Ross Lyon to rethink some of his coaching methods. Trying to starve the opposition is one thing, but a team has to score if it wants to win. Lyon has coached four Grand Finals with his teams scoring a miserable total of 34 goals. Eight and a half goals won't win a premiership. Hawthorn had too many attacking options - they won without any great input from Mitchell and Franklin for example, but others stepped up, and the defensive mind set of Lyon's coaching didn't cope.

Thank goodness it's all over, perhaps, the place may return to some level of sanity and culture. The most interesting aspect was an Alliance Fokker F100 at Essendon.

Haven't seen or heard a 'decent' size takeoff from Essendon for years.

True, the last time that I flew out of Port Hedland was on Alliance F100 VH-FKD.
Bit concerned that the rego might match its mechanical condition. No worries a very pleasant aeroplane.
Also flown on a couple of Austrian F100s in the last few years - absolutely immaculate interiors despite their age - they put a lot of newer aircraft to shame.

The Always Feeble League (AFL) thank God it is over for another year. As for the Lowbrown Medal well what can be said. Twisted Evil

Apropos the "Lowbrown Medal", for many years Hawthorn had ( and may still have ) it's own award called the Damlow Medal, which went to the player with the most points for idiocy etc. A old friend of mine played in Hawthorn's 1961 Premiership, and told me of some the ways points were gained. For example, full forward John Peck, running toward an open goal with the siren about to blow, and three points needed for a win, decided to get closer before kicking at goal. He attempted to bounce the ball on the run, lost it, and failed to recover, thereby not getting his kick, and Hawthorn lost by two points.  From memory, Peck got 45 points in the Damlow Medal for that effort. There were other examples which have no place on a family program!Very Happy

As for the Brownlow Medal presentation itself, Channel 7 deserves some form of bizarre award for producing a 4 hour program about something which could be done in 40 minutes.
