    Location: Sydney
    The rock cutting north of Cheltenham station on the NSFC side is being fitted with wire-netting and suitable posts, probably to protect the running line from rockfalls, when work starts to excavate the cutting for the third track.

    All along the section between Epping and Thornleigh concrete "New Jersey Barrier" blocks are being place to reduce the risk of motor vehicles straying onto the running lines.

    The NSFC thread is getting to be rather long, and there would be some sense in separating it into parts, with of course plenty of cross references.

    A lot of trees at and near Cheltenham have been chopped down for the NSFC-ETTT, leaving only the stumps.

    Several workmans huts have been installed north of Cheltenham.

    When the Albury regauging was complete and opened to traffic, the thread was "reset" to zero, and a new post-opening thread started. Thus it can be with the commencement of the actual construction work on the NSFC.

    For example: "NE SG line, post gauge conversion"

    This restart makes sense as the old thread can get too long.

    Also the RP search function is again not working properly, and one cannot always find the old thread.
