The line was only ever used for grain anyway, at lease I don't know of any other use for the line.
Now those are interesting hoppers - do we know if they're destined for NSW or Victorian grain working?
A spokes-women for PN told "The Weekly Times" this week that the wagons would be used ,on trial basis, in NSW and that some of the wagons are only about 12 year old.

Just for those who may be interested:
On Friday 12th October 2012, a Vehicle Transfer Train will operate between on the Ararat – Maryborough Corridor between Ararat and KP 264.000 for the relocation of stored freight vehicles.
I wonder how many could be left?
Cheers all.

As of 5pm this afternoon there was 23 x VHBF, 12 x VHLY, 7 x VHKY, 13 x VKNY
The next wagons to come off the line will be the 23 VHBY hoppers before they can get to the rest of the 100 tonners

A picture doing the rounds on the internetThat is a different line - the Rainbow line. Separate to the matters discussed in this thread.
After nearly nine years of storage in the siding at Antwerp (north of Dimboola on the Rainbow branch), the rake of twenty one VHBF grain hoppers are being removed. They were placed at this location late in June 2006 and have remained there ever since, only leaving the siding briefly on at least two occasions when they were hauled out onto the main line only to be immediately pushed back into the siding which was to prevent the bearings seizing up.
On the morning of Tues.24.2.2015 a large fork lift was being used to lift the hoppers off their bogies and place them on the ground and the bogies were also being taken off the rails.
