After arriving into Bendigo, R761-R707 have cut off their train in order to proceed to the yards/roundhouse for turning in readiness for the trip back to Melbourne :

Colin Holl was the #1 driver at Bendigo. He is best remembered for his record run between Bendigo and Melbourne driving R761 in the 1980's (1986 I think it was). He was also the senior driver for the CMR/VGR when the commenced operations in 1986 and held this role until he retired in 1990. The chalking on the smokebox door of R707 is a fitting tribute to Col.

On their way into Bendigo, R761-R707 have just passed through the Big Hill tunnel and about to pass under Phillis St bridge nearing Kangaroo Flat on the outskirts of Bendigo :

While at Bendigo, we managed to get R761 and R707 being turned at the Bendigo Roundhouse in readiness for their trip back to Melbourne :

On the return journey to Melbourne, R707 is now leading R761 with the 8096 Steamrail train and was caught at the following locations to finish off what was a fantastic day.
