At Castlemaine, the fans flock to admire the show put on by R761-R707 as they 'cool their heels' before departing for Bendigo :

Colin Holl was the #1 driver at Bendigo. He is best remembered for his record run between Bendigo and Melbourne driving R761 in the 1980's (1986 I think it was). He was also the senior driver for the CMR/VGR when the commenced operations in 1986 and held this role until he retired in 1990. The chalking on the smokebox door of R707 is a fitting tribute to Col.

On the return journey to Melbourne, R707 is now leading R761 with the 8096 Steamrail train and was caught at the following locations to finish off what was a fantastic day.
Many thanks to the friendly Steamrail drivers and everyone else involved in putting this great day together.

I managed to stuff up the majority of my shots (and this didn't combine well with the fact that we had no idea where we were going, where any decent photo spots were, or what we were doing), but I managed to get at least three I was happy with!

I think you'll find it's J515. It's been wheezing for a couple of years now.
