    CM3301 underwent a load trial on Cowan bank today . Locos CF4412, CF4411 & CM3301 took twenty one passenger carriages from the ARHS Museum at Canberra to Gosford and then CM3301 hauled the consist up Cowan bank. Luckily the heavy bushfire smoke that covered the area in the morning cleared sufficiently to allow the event to be recorded.

    I liked the video but just wondering why use ARHS Canberra rolling stock and testing for what?
    At a guess that was The Black Caviar loco in the lead on the up journey and would that be most of their passenger stock?

    I would have a theory that the Canberra cars used is not very far from Goulburn and maybe it's I'll scratch your back and you mine.

    It was a load trial, so a load was needed, and Espee Railroad Services operated this trial and the ARHS ACT cars were the best option to use as the load.

    Saw it pass through Lidcombe on Saturday evening heading west. I wondered what all the passengers cars were about. The CM sure is an unusual outline but OK. Anyhow, broke up an otherwise boring shift ensuring Beyonce clients caught their train to Oly Park.
