South Coast Line - Partial Closure
The South Coast Line is partially closed between Port Kembla and Port Kembla North, in both directions following the flooding of the rail line at Port Kembla overnight. Buses are replacing trains between Port Kembla and Port Kembla North. Passengers are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and listen to station announcements. Additionally, buses may supplement some trains between Bomaderry and Berry due to urgent equipment repairs at Berry. Passengers should allow additional travel time.
That was interesting - first time I have ever terminated a service at Port Kembla North, of all places! My driver and I half expected we'd be terminated at Cringila.
We didn't have to wait for the bus coming from Port, as it would take anyone on board straight to Wollongong, and so departed Port North precisely on time.
Just had a look at the Sydney Trains website: as of a minute ago, the situation as posted by 4206 is unchanged.
