If the limestone train service is truly finished I hope that maybe GWA may consider offering some of the remaining broad gauge 830's to some of the preservation groups in SA. I know 1 or 2 830's would be great for steamranger or PRR
That's right, I'm surprised no 830's have been preserved in SA yet, despite their age. Steamranger should definitely get one, perhaps for Cockle Train duties when Rx207 & 621 are unavailable? Pichi Richi could go with one, maybe Steamtown Peterborough as well?
I heard 704 is a shoe-in to be put on standard gauge, not sure when that'll happen though.
Also, would there be any chance a stone hopper will be preserved somewhere?
