G'day all,

It's been a while since we updated this thread so I thought I'd post a few photo teasers of the painted samples of the 1550 class.

There are about 4 minor issues that need to be rectified in the painting (grey headstocks need to be white on the blue units, grey on the corporate is one shade too dark and so forth) but these are pretty simple fixes.

In short, we are getting VERY close to starting production of these models. Jade, Kieren and I are EXTREMELY impressed with the results of our work over the last 9 months and are all eagerly awaiting the production models to arrive.

Obviously we will be posting more photos over the next few days.

New Adam's Video Corner: During a recent visit from Russell Hartwig and Ted Freeman from the Darling Downs Model Railway Club in Toowoomba, we decided to film what turned out to be a rather lengthy bloopers reel. Whilst doing so we accidentally filmed what we believe to be the longest Queensland train run on HOn3½. Train consists of an assortment of the Wuiske Models/Haskell QR RTR wagons and two pre-production samples of our forthcoming 1550 class locomotive being load tested on the Wuiske Models layout.

G'day Raymond,

Yes, it has, $295 per locomotive. This hasn't changed since we first announced it and showed our undecorated samples.

Cheers,
Jade.

they look awesome.
I would be very tempted to add one of these to my roster even though they are not even remotely close to NSWGR metro workings!!!

Great job....looking forward to see these appearing in shops soon.

I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of discussion as to how the 1550's are coming along in comparison to most of the R-T-R, one day several years from now, tell us nothing, brigade.

I agree - these models really have slipped under the radar. I think also the fact that QLD is the subject, the armchair experts of NSW/VIC etc have not much to say......quite refreshing really.

They look really nice.....

They Look awesome.

I will have to sell two existing models of mine in order to buy 2. I 'have' to have one original QR in blue, and a bronco DOO version. Then I'll be happy to then wait for the Southern Models 2300.  But really looking forward to the 1550's . I do wonder if the  other big importers are watching the QR market. If the 1550 and 2300 do well we may see them enter with a model. I wonder.

I think Wuiske have been very informative and honest, and knowing them slightly I appriciate the time and effort gone into the project.

Farlight, go on, buy one. They come in "Broadgauge" - my two will be as well.

Packaging for the 1550 we at Haskell Co are producing with Wuiske Models is a bit smaller than with most Australian engines but we think the blister works well. Everything seems to be going well and we hope to have the models ready soon!

Have tried to resist the urge to ask when they might land, then be able to be bought.  So far we know it will be  sometime in 2015. They will be here sometime from now until they arrive. So I really should shut up and wait patiently.......................

G'day David,
They can't be that far away now. Let me assure you that we are waiting with just as much anticipation as you are.
As soon as they arrive, we will be phoning all those who have placed expressions of interest and after that, they will be placed on the website along with our existing products. We will of course keep you all updated as things progress.

Cheers,
Adam

Just a quick note to those who have put in expression of interest forms for the 1550 class locos... Expect a call starting TODAY!
Please bear with us as this process should take a few days and then the 1550s will be announced on the site as available.

Thanks Adam,

I appreciate your attention to us punters.

Have any of the purveyors of sound decoders arranged to get a pre-production 1550 to check decoder and speaker fitment?

Best regards,
John

I totally agree with Adam's remarks in Adam's Corner 93:
"that quirky narrow gauge railway that is (let’s face it) just better and more interesting than pretty much any other system on the planet."   .
