Where do the trains cross as I assume you mean two trains within 8 or so hours?

According to the Grovedale thread the up warrnambool goods broke down yesterday.

According to scuttlebutt at a local model train club that shall remain nameless.....the Monday down goods G class failed near the up end home signal at Camperdown with an alternator fault. Another G was sent to push the goods into Camperdown, then run-around and haul the train to Warrnambool, hence the very late arrival. The Warrnambool Standard yesterday gave some details of delays to passenger trains.

As I say, scuttlebutt at a model train club......therefore it must be true! I believe there are some photos out there of the double headed goods if someone can oblige.

Thanks for sharing.  What factors would have lead PN to take the train back to Warrnambool rather than the shorter? distance to North Geelong Yard?  Sounds bizzare to me?

What happened to 9203/9204 today? Has it failed somewhere or did it not run?

Since PN took back over the freight. There has been 3 or 4 times the freight has ran a 5 day a week service. Most weeks it misses a wed. So that makes sense. Also Melbourne Cup public holiday may of had something to do with it. Nothing wrong with it not coming to Warrnambool every so often. It runs on a as needed basis

Possibly due to the fact the train was running to Warrnambool rather than the other way

As was mentioned in another thread, It was down there for ICE radio testing, the same thing A66 has been doing all over Victoria for the last 6 months or so.

A66 was not down in Warrnambool for ICE radio Testing. IT was down for ICE radio TRAINING. The Warrnambool crews do not make it to Melbourne so instead A66 was brought to Warrnambool to train them in the Operation of ICE. It was down here and Left Tuesday week ago.

As for some other Warrnambool line news. The Warrnambool freight has gone to a 5 day a week runner at the moment as the freight loads seem to pick up. This week we had X43 and X44 on the freight Wed. With G522 doing the later part of the weeks run
