The exact location of North Goulburn railway station is Lat: -34.747177° Lon: 149.741085°
The down platform still remains however it is now private property, personally the idiot should move
out and hand it back to the railways so North Goulburn can be reopened

North Goulburn railway station: As stated in the PTC of NSW Station Names Opening, Closing and/or changingof name book 1978
Distance: 222.462 kilometers from Sydney, Height: 637.0, Opened ??/??/1882, Closed 9/3/1975

I hope this is all useful mate:)

Why that specific comment?  Has the guy been asked to move out previous and will not?

I see now. Thanks.

There were a few stations in the Goulburn area for years. Not sure about south Goulburn, I think that was called another name.

Was it established there were any signal boxes still standing in the Goulburn area? I thought most went around the end of the 70's into the early 80's?

There was no platform south of Goulburn. There was a tank near Joppa Junction but no platforms there or at the Junction.

Crookwell Branch had a couple of platforms near Goulburn. There was a platform near the Goulburn Gaol called "Argyle" which I gathered was a property name. Kenmore platform was bit further up on the down side where the line crosses the road to Taragala.

(and if Newcastle can't have a platform, I don't think the thriving metropolis of North Goulburn needs one)

NSWrail.net has all this info. I'm sure whoever owns the land and platform could give it to the government (although very unlikely, that heritage value building looks like it could fetch a pretty penny) and they still wouldn't rebuild and reopen the station. If the demand were there (extremely unlikely) it would probably be cheaper and more convenient to build one on the other side of the highway. Or move it over to the old Crookwell line, rebuild that line as far as a new station at Dewhurst St. and reopen all the previous stations plus another near the golf course, add a few south of Goulburn at Braidwood Rd. Finlay Rd. the old Mullwarree Tank and another near the abattoir and then run the whole thing as an urban tram-train or light rail set up. Just joking.

I guess it depends what you mean by signal box...

The final Goulburn box was (and is) located on the up side south of the the station in the perway yard.

It operated until fairly recently controlling the yard and the level crossing north of the station until all this was transferred to Junee with the centralisation of Southern control.

But it is still there.

Appreciate all the feedback provided.  In summary the only remaining signal box (still standing) is the box for Goulburn yard.
