Thanks, retromelb.

It was a record for the dishevelled lesbian tent, but there was no smell.

Time to open it up a bit:

It was a record for the dishevelled lesbian tent, which also has another name, but there was no smell.

For the "record" part, think vinyl.  The lesbian tent is in disarray and has another name.

Williamstown Beach.

I no nothing about lesbian tents nor do I wish to know anything.

So I will make an anagram of "nothing": "hington".

Now I do know something about records - I still have some a LP or two at home - even if the player is buried under junk!

Put those together and up comes ...

"Alphington"

Not Williamstown Beach, nor Alphington.

Plan B is on the right track, however, and I like the thinking behind Alphington.  "LP" is nearly there;  there was also a smaller 7 inch version, usually two tracks per side, known as .....

You don't need to know anything about a lesbian tent (who would?), but you do need to recognise an anagram.  Having solved the anagram, give it a different name and remove the smell, then add it to the record, and you are there.

Sounds simple, and I thought I had recognised an anagram by the term dishevelled. However I cannot find a single word anagram of lesbian tent in dictionary words or suburban station names. There are lots of multi word anagrams, but I have better things to do than find one which then can have those other steps applied.

Just explaining why I haven't come up with an answer.

Add the spices and garnish with mint. Serves four.

Lesbian tent = table tennis = ping pong

ping pong - pong = ping

ping + ep = epping

Well done retromelb, you have it exactly right, and Epping is the answer.

So, over to you for another brainteaser.

Cheers Lad, I think we were all thrown off scent by the "Lesbian tent", but it really wasn't that shocking in the end!  Good one.

Probably not right.  I am still trying to process that previous one.

I thought I had it.

A female recording artist who only ever had her work released on vinyl; a disheveled, hippy type with a liberal sexual attitude, who wore a dress that resembled a tepee or wigwam, yet kept her self clean smelling...

If I figure out a station with an anagram from "Mama Cass Elliot", I am going to lodge a formal protest...

Easy - it's East Loams Claim - an old mining settlement on rich soil.

If it was during her solo career it would just be Cass Elliot, so that makes it Castle Silo!  Must be one of the goods sidings on the Outer Circle.

Thanks retromelb.  This one is a lot less obscure than my last one.

It was before the big blue Pacific, but paradoxically not after it.

Not Moreland.

Hint - retromelb's previous clue gave me an idea for this one.
