Flies in the face of an article that I read the other day - http://www.theherald.com.au/story/2884053/18-wagon-coal-train-derails-near-willow-tree/- this one in fact, where it says down the bottom that the train was doing about 100/km an hour, I thought it was a bit suss, there's no way in hell a Coalie can reach 100km an hour in that section
The article makes me wonder too.
Who is "Chris Sharp, of Newcastle, who works on the railways" (which railways?)
His description of the incident (which he admits he did not witness) is akin to the way my 8yo great nephew would describe it!"18 carriages let go, went airborne and smashed everywhere’’, Mr Sharp said.
Then he goes onto describe how all the passengers on the "XPT"
where transferred to buses at Muswellbrook!
How many time have we seen an XPT in Muswellbrook??
He also claimed the coal train was doing 100kph and three locos had also derailed.
Meanwhile an ABC article mentions 19 empty wagons derailed and nothing about locos being off the rail. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-02-17/derailment-investigation-could-take-27years27/6125252
