If anyone is a perfectionist it's definitely me! I know because that seam really bugs me!..... That tree was actually my first "Woodland Scenics" tree that I made, as you can see I sprayed it gray to simulate some type of gum tree and "then" decided to cut limbs off. I should have cut the limbs first! It actually looks like a type of gum tree when you stand back.

I'm much better at making trees now! I have a few YouTube videos on trees as well.

I'm not 100% sure if it's DCC? I only just got it and plonked it on my small diorama to take a photo! I haven't even read the instructions yet. I will however be putting a ESU LocSound v4.0 decoder in it purchased from DCCSound with the P class sound file installed. It's $195 but I think it's worth it. Just hanging out for them to add the little "Buy Now" button so I can hurry up and get it! It says mid August, so hopefully not too much longer.

I am pretty sure that the Harris cars were talked about two years ago by modellers, and it was thought that Auscision would "obviously" do them with the P Class.
I did a quick search and cannot find any announcements from Auscision, although FB might hide one?
Anyway going on past associations, I doubt if a Harris set is going to come anytime soon The rumoured P class took over 2 years, didn't it?
The only chance we have of getting them quickly, is if they are part of the  announced "many unannounced" models that were just waiting for a slot at the factory.
I guess Austrains PL cars and the C van prove that we can be surprised

Simple solution; turn the tree around Or grab your modelling scalpel and scrape it away, and re-paint. You've done a great job with the colour as it looks like a nice spotted gum.

I'm sure they were too, in plastic RTR. That makes sense of course, P's need a H set behind them!

Looking back at some old RP threads, it was in their April 2006 newsletter and again in the Nov '06 newsletter.

I'm *sure* there were order forms at some stage...?

It's gonna be a very long time before I can afford to get anything from them!

The Hitachi Suburban Electric looks fantastic! It reminds me of catching the train to school every morning from Eltham!
I can only dream!........ I have a new 15cm by 25cm diorama for sale, it's a dirt road scene and I did a YouTube video about it..... it's only $1650.... any takers?

Not sure that post means much though. It is the original "Spark" that is on offer. However the Auscision 2006 wish list just says Harris Cars, so that is obviously (to me anyway) pointing at the regional loco hauled sets rather than Electric sets.
As Peter obviously enjoys playing games, I should think that the project might have gone cold, because we did not react to the 2006 posting??
If that is the case they may need reassurance (Ha Ha as if?)  But I do think that if we want them tomorrow we are going to be disappointed, but this time next year at Caulfield we might be in with a chance, but only if we push them along with a post to Face Book and here start up a Harris Cars thread, and tell them where we are coming from.
Ok Auscision I want two three car tea cup sets (Didn't they come out without V/line logos?) But either way as first operated when introduced.
I also want two long Harris cars to add in to make 4 car sets.
If Auscision asked me (and they wont) I would tell them to manufacture box sets of 3 and 4 car sets as operated, and then sell extra  short cars and long cars individually. That would probably work out because the long cars arrived later (I believe) and numbers of sets did change over time.  Who has the original set consists and changes, the  V/Line trains site is down I think

Auscision announced the loco hauled H sets back in ~2006. Their 2008 foldout catalogue had the above picture on the last page showing things in the pipeline - most have now been delivered however you'll see 48' containers and 40' flatpacks loads along with the H's that haven't arrived to date. The Feb 2009 newsletter advised "Victorian BP/PH Van.  This model and its variants have had the design drawings completed – changes are currently being made and production should occur with the Victorian N & H passenger cars in late 2010 / early 2011."

No orderforms for the H's were released, and the facebook post of earlier this year refers to the electric Harris carriages only, not the H sets some were converted to.

These missing things, along with items advertised back in ~2005 that we've never heard of again, may or may not see the light of day. All I'll say is keep watching the blog for updates. Who knows what surprises are lurking in the months to come.

It's an exciting day today!

I received the ESU LocSound V4.0 decoder from DCCSound with the P class sound pre-installed. The only down side is I have to work this afternoon so I won't get a chance to install it until tomorrow.

I'm also going to start working on another how-to scenery video on making an embankment, detailing a farm scene and improving the look of the plastic sheep.
The basic look will be a paddock leading up to an embankment which is fenced off with an old looking wire fence, at the top of the embankment will be a train line and my P-Class slowly coasting by.....

Anyway, cant wait to give the P-Class a test run tomorrow!

Got the decoder and speaker installed without too much trouble, gave it a test run and it works like a charm!

I had a couple of issues though! Before I try to describe my problems I'll apologize because my train terminology is terrible!

I read in a post somewhere the steps that are just in front of the fuel tank fell off (you can see the steps in question in the photo at the top of this thread) and were floating around in the bottom of the package, easy fix right! I purchased my P-Class from a shop that had it on display, the steps were in tact and clearly attached. That'a where the problem began, the steps were obviously fixed and had been trimmed on the back and reattached with some type of glue. I'm gonna guess it was super glue because there was a faint white mist around the glued area, unfortunately when the steps were glued on the glue actually fixed itself to the chassis. I had to break them off again to get the shell off and in the process I accidentally detached one of the brake lines and also pressed my finger into one of the photo etched side steps! Both are an easy fix but frustrating nonetheless.

Also the steps seemed to straddle a detail part that is apart of the chassis, I think I would have had to pull those steps off regardless to remove the shell?

But all is good now, I just finished sealing the speaker to create a baffle in the frame and once the PVA has dried I'll have the shell back on and I can reattach the brake line and steps. On the DCC Sound website they suggest using Kristal Klear to seal the speaker but after doing some research I found it's a similar product to PVA. The only thing I did was let the PVA set for 10 minutes so it was less runny, it worked a treat.

I have filmed the entire process, I'll be putting a detailed how-to video together on installing the decoder into the P-Class. Hopefully I'll have it done by Friday. Basically all the filming has been done just need to edit the final video.

If they were doing the H sets, they would have announced it and shown off a 3D model already. Also, I can't see why they would only do one and not the other (e.g. electric vs. loco-hauled) when they are practically the same cars. Granted, the blue Harris cars would be a bit more fiddly to design/build with the numerous vents on the roof, not to mention there were a number of shell variations - 1st series, 2nd series, Grey Ghost, 2 or 3 doors per side, 2 or 3 windows per section, 60 foot, 75 foot, regular BCH, short van BCH (ex-Grey Ghost motor) and probably even more differences - AFAIK the Harris bogies differ slightly too, at least compared to the "regular" Commonwealth bogies underneath S/Z/N cars (assuming they use the same).
