The Bellarine Railway will be holding two of their popular Thomas events this coming week-end and in two weeks time. Prior booking is recommended, especially if you wish to travel on the earlier trains.  On the Sunday, family groups might like to do the Thomas event and combine it with a trip to the nearby Portarlington Miniature Railway. A great railway day out!!

Certainly is 9034. The 45 minute trip from Queenscliff to Drysdale is absolutely beautiful, especially the 1st 15 minutes where it skirts around the edge of Swan Bay. But then again, I am biased, as I am a member/volunteer there Laughing

I don't think you're biased - you just appreciate something really good in which you have an involvement. Good on you for that!Very Happy

Valvegear, I volunteered with Puff when I lived in Melbourne, first in the Refresh Room when it was a portable on the station platform at Belgrave through to Booking, and when I moved to Geelong 11 years ago, I slowly gravitated towards GSPS and the Bellarine Railway-I've been with BR for around 10 years now. though I am off sick at the moment with a long term illness. The differences in things like station operations are huge, but I haven't regretted putting up my hand for either. And to sit on one of the seats on the platform at Queenscliff and look over Swan Bay in the peace and quiet after the train leaves is just magical.

I can thoroughly recommend any activity associated with the train at BR, such as the Blues Train, and the heritage services on a normal running day, and joining in with Ibram, Thomas weekends are well worth a look-in, even for the rail fan without any kiddies in tow Wink

Having been on The Blues Train several times, I can't recommend it enough.

Also I will be taking the tribe to the Thomas day.
