Yes, it's to do with the new template caching mechanism I'm implementing. It's been disabled for the time being in development.

Mobile version: From the home page, the menu button doesn't do anything so you can't get to the forums. Once in the forums (having navigated via URL), there is no way to log in. The buttons at the top don't load anything, and clicking "Show Desktop Site" causes the page to be blank. If by fluke the CSS doesn't load properly and the menu items are listed at the top of the page, clicking "Log in" takes you to the form, but entering ones details and submitting reloads the form.

That's a bug I've fixed in a coming version of Railpage. In the meantime, head to http://www.railpage.com.au/login to login Smile

I see nested quotes are back - however the names of the poster are lost except for the last quoted post. Makes it hard to determine who said what.

You'll be pleased to know that this has been fixed in an upcoming version of Railpage Smile

Apologies all for that brief interlude; our database server logs went a bit crazy and chewed up all the disk space on our DB VM.

In the past couple of days the 'New Photos' link on the homepage as well as on the drop down bar have ceased to work.

The photo pool cam still be accessed by clicking on a scrolling photo and selecting 'Browse' from the photo itself.

Hi. I normally access RP on a desktop PC, and it all works well. I also have a rather dodgy 7 inch tablet which I use from time to time. Attempting to use this tablet is bit frustrating! On other forums, if I'm having trouble accurately touching a page button, for instance, I can do the "thumb and finger spread apart" trick to expand and enlarge the button so I can touch it and not have some adjacent button open instead. However, on Railpage Australia™, the screen refuses to expand! As hard as I try, the page jiggles a bit but will not expand. Is this the fault of my crummy little tablet, or are the pages on the RP forum  somehow configured to not be expandable?

On mobile/handheld devices we use the viewport meta tag to control content width. This stops the content from shrinking when something "falls off" the page, but has the unfortunate side effect you've noted.

I am using Firefox when the CR problem occurs.
Pressing CR puts cursor at the beginning of the current line, (not the next line) and I have to use the Down Arrow to move the cursor to the next line.
Sometimes pressing CR puts a blank line before the current line, instead of after.

Hi guys, thanks again for a very entertaining web site.

For a couple of weeks now, if I hit "Railpage" I get the automated "temporarily out" sign ( and enjoy its humour). However, if I put up Railpage and then hit "Forums" I have instant access.

Why is it so ?

I was getting the same message yesterday when posting, yet if I went back to the thread the post had been successful !

The front page does not load at times when I am not logged in.

It is impossible to see any of the page with the exception of the banner at the top but the menu still works so you can select login.

Every time I copy and paste, the font automatically goes down by one size. This has been happening for about 4 weeks. Why, and woddya do to stop it?

Click the "View Source" button before pasting. You will then paste plain text with no formatting. Just like it used to be before this new-fangled "Rich Text Editor" was implemented. Oh how I wish for the good old days... Wink
