    6029 passed a load test yesterday with flying colours. All systems go for Maitland.

    Could somebody come out and be honest with everyone who is planning to go to the Maitland Steam Festival for 2016. One of the BIGGEST drawcards is the GARRATT 6029.
    Rumour has it that it wont be attending, Is this true.?

    It was the reason many of us were planning on attending, but we are all up in the air at present.

    Not sure where your rumour comes from. The rumour I have is it's going.

    So whomever told you it isn't going doesn't know the train has been re-pathed.

    Can I take it that this means that the original timetable for the transfer stands, or that the timetable has been altered?

    Man, it would have been nice for them to email customers to let them know that he departure time had changed from 9 and that another loco had been found. Really disappointed about the lack of communication especially since we have forked out a decent amount of cash for this trip.

    My understanding is, that the ARHS A.C.T Train, will be worked up on an "Ad Hoc" Path

    Hi all, Today whilst I was out at Leightonfield, I shot this heritage movement of 4490/4520/4001, they ran to UGL Maintrain at Auburn, to collect 4204 and a couple of cars

    At a guess, 210 years plus of vintage diesels in that shot.

    From a look in the cab there is no ICE radio, it is with the State Mine Railmotors running around so took locos thus fitted to be able to complete the job.

    And from a look at Thirlmere there is no working power car so taking the Blue Zypher on hire for the St James Rail charter.

    Evening Gentleman and ladies.

    I just came across this on the Steamfest FB page.

    The first of the steam locos has started its journey to Steamfest. 3016, sporting a brand new Steamfest badge, left Canberra this afternoon and is on its way to Maitland.

    Just trying to get all my times ready to tie in with work. I'm ready for Friday arvo with 36 and 59, but itching to see the Garratt in person.
    I'll be at Warabrook Station for everything coming up, so i can still get a decent shot so to say...

    Hopefully they will be at Hawkesbury river tonight. i have a friend who lives there and close to the railway line and asked him to keep his eyes peeled.

    Sorry that you are disappointed with the way that 3016 is positioned for her run north. If you could help ACTARHS with a grant to have the Turntable at Queanbeyan repaired. I am shore that they would entertain your request.

    THNSW double header to Maitland now looks like now being a single header.

    Loco problems with 5917, being worked on now.

    59 coming through Maud St and Waratah Stn This morning. Luck has it a Red light gave me chance to get down to Waratah to get her again.

    My son alerted me that he could hear something at 1.30, i could hear it too. I'm assuming she's in Broadmeadow Yard?

    Sorry guys haven't got a link working properly, but this is the 59 coming through Maud St and Waratah Stn This morning. Luck has it a Red light gave me chance to get down to Waratah to get her again.

    It's gone to Port waratah with problems, hopefully to be fixed and the 60+30 class are coming through Epping now.

    For those interested ARHS(ACT) contacted the GRHC on Tuesday to request access for 3016 to be turned about 17:00 Wednesday.  I did not see the turn but believe that it happened.  Was told this morning that the train (incl. 3016 and 6042) left Goulburn at 08:30 heading north.

    The question now is will all four steam engines be available for the quad working?  There are no spare steamers!

    6029 and 3016 running as 9S09 are currently at Gosford. Likewise 4807
