It'll be interesting to see how much these cars go for. The detail on them is brilliant (even the wheels are different between the holden and ford) so I would expect at least $15 each.

They will need to be a lot cheaper than that Sad
Look at the models again, particularly around the windscreen inserts. They appear to me to be built to keep the price down. I think they will sell in 8 packs of mixed colours in Holden and Ford ranges. After all they should be designed to populate the car carrying wagons Wink If they were $15 each would make them $120 a wagon/auto pack
So building a 10 wagon car train ,loaded with cars would cost $260 for an Auscision  4 pack car wagon and $480 for the cars to populate them? That's 4 populated wagons for $740 and 10 populated wagons for $1850?  Makes a 13 car Aurora look cheep Very Happy
My guess is that the 8 car packs need to be a lot cheaper for that to encourage (even allow?)  people to buy these cars
I would like to see them sell in 8 packs for $19.99 the common accessory price on the Auscision catalogue page?  More likely they will sell for $19.99 for 4 packs though Sad Check out EBay China for very low prices out of that Country. Even Germany sells 50 scale models for $30AU. Buy it now. (eBay item number:381384033111) ah! just noticed small print 1:100 I did not expect that from Germany. So must be out of China too. But the Auscision ones are coming from same sort of place and will be built to 1:87. My guess build price is much the same, its Auscisions expectations that control the price Wink
But it is definitely doable Very Happy

To quote an Aussie classic movie "tell him he's dreaming".

Looking at the detail in these samples of cars there is no way they will be that cheap ($2.50 per car) it would be nice though !

My guess about $10.00 per car which is reasonable considering detail including being painted and compared to what other cars are around on the market.

The fact they have picked 2 makes in sedans only also suggests they are not that cheap to make and they are testing the market before committing to anymore car models.

If they could be produced any cheaper why has no one bothered in the past to produce cars at that cheaper price range ..my guess it can not  be done. So good on Auscision for doing something for us all. I have to laugh at some of the suggestions on their FB Page when they posted pics of car samples. Nowhere did they ask for suggestions they were showing what they are going to produce but the requests came flooding in, someone even asked for a sigma !!

Lets hope they are a success and we see further makes and models in the future.

RMX samples look great also.

Knowing that everything Australian costs double anywhere else, it may be just that a fairy tale. However even at $10 a car  and 80 dollars a wagon, and $320 for a box of 4 wagons, how many  are you going to buy? Wink
Not many for me that's for sure. Will 800 of you buy 1 box of car wagons at $240 and 32 cars at $320, I guess I am not the only one dreaming. But I do know their is another manufacturer looking at doing 4 automobiles in one piece, with interchangeable bodies so you can mix and match. They are going to come out a lot cheaper than 8 for $80. They are just waiting to see what Auscision does do, because they started designing them before Auscision's announcement. Wink
I think we are all better off encouraging Auscision to keep it down, not talk them up. After all its your wallet they are after, and theirs ,but to fill.
Railpage Australia™ must be the only place I know where customers encourages high prices, rather to stick together and lobby for fair prices. Hello? How much is that car? What $67,000? You a bunch of losers, I would pay $100,000 for a car like that Very Happy

What model/years are those cars representing?

While they may be just good enough for sitting in a car wagon as a showpiece there really is no need for a lot of detail, even an interior would not be really needed nor seeable in the wagons.  Depending on the era being modeled I am not too sure about those two vehicles were rail hauled at least into Cooks Creek. In the 70's one of the most prolific cars to be railed into Cooks was the valiants, had to move them out quick though, especially after rain & good sun conditions then took over.

Saw quite a few valiants that sat over the dirt parking area in summer with steam coming up from surrounding puddles, & not just a few had internal damp windows, on one occasion I saw at least two already with rust on them.

Anyone looking to make cars for the type of use intended for them could sell a lot & not just for train consists, but if clever doing some early eras as well, that could readily be used on a layout.  Price will mean winners or losers.

Like everything in life I will buy what I need and can afford at the time. I would like a 50% discount on everything I buy in life including my new car and house I want to buy or the groceries I purchased this week but I have to be realistic and know that's not going to happen even if I tell the seller I am only willing to pay 50% of what I believe that new house and car or groceries is worth. They are not going to sell at a loss just for me to buy up big. I am sure Auscision will have tried to keep the cost down as much as possible after all they are in the business of selling products not storing unsold product. We have not had a confirmation of numbers in packs or pricing yet so its all speculation at the moment.

Its not a matter of telling Auscision to keep the price down. They will price them at what it costs to produce them and make it worth their effort just like any business would do producing any product. My estimate of $10.00 each is a reflection of the detail in the model samples they have shown and is a fair price in my opinion for what I have seen. What is not fair is expecting them to price them so low as to loose money. The fact that you do not want to pay that much is your choice and is not going to influence their pricing and neither is my opinion on pricing.

Interesting you mention that another manufacturer had started before Auscision. Where are these samples ? Why would you not at least announce your intentions ? or is it just another pipe dream. Like I said in previous post why has no one previously produced cars in plastic Aussie outline HO before as its not like the demand has not been there it has just increased now with impending delivery of Auscision and Casula car carriers. Auscision have put their money where their mouth is and actually tooled 2 types of cars and shown us what will be available to purchase soon. They have not left it to someone else to produce cars to go with their car carriers that may never eventuate they have bitten the bullet and tooled them. I guess there is no pleasing some.

although not a big deal, based on the appearance of the metal sided car carriers I think you could get away with using 6 cars to replicate a full wagon rather than 8 cars as it looks as though the 2 cars on the bottom deck in the middle wouldn't be seen anyway thus potentially only requiring 24 cars to fill a 4 wagon pack instead of 32.

Agreed.

Additionally,  don't see a drama with someone making a suggestion to Auscision re Sigma. You don't  ask, don't get. Might be doable,  might not. Just like the Ford could be done as a station wagon too. In either case it's another item to be tooled, and as such a cost. This may be why we only see what's proposed, but who knows whether a surprise release happens??
Further,  we don't even know how many colours of each might be offered. (Just on that, does anyone who might have owned one of these crap heaps know how many colours were? I'd recon at least 5). This in itself may give quite a bit of variation even if there's only two models of car.

ps,  couldn't paste Facebook link as don't have account with it. Thanks for suggestion, and thanks Poath  for doing so.

There are two types of trains. The loaded ones and the empty ones. The latter is the cheaper option. Just model the train returning back to the factory for reloading of the cars.

Modellers licence would surely get the cars to XF Falcon (1988), and VK (1986).
Some will take that licence further,  by having a couple of cars on a car carrier for an Overland or Vinelander consist. The cars themselves were obviously around well after they ceased production.

It's better than the nothing we currently have, despite there easily being more that can be made.

I had a quick look at their products page,  and it shows rerun  (this was the GH). As the old order forms are no longer there,  can anybody who has easy access to an old one,  provide comment on whether the rerun is with the same numbers as before? ?

I don't recall seeing anything to state either way. Unless I'm going blind and missed it??

Probably because the production run of each model is very limited and with delivery scheduled for June of this year.

based on their ability to miraculously turn up boxes of previously sold out models and also the limited edition SSR class GT-46's which were limited to 100 models of each loco which they declared a sell out and then announced they had miscalculated sales figures and that they were still available

I can remember a small number of boxes of 45's that were discovered which were immediately put on sale on a first in first served basis at the $295 retail price but can't remember any others. Perhaps you can elaborate on what the other sold out models that miraculously turned up were that you speak about. If they were that desperate to make a few extra dollars then why do you think they go out of the way to advise their customers when the early bird discount offers are about to close on new models.

I seem to recall that Austrains made a fine art out of turning up boxes of long sold out models.

Interesting.

So I clicked Poaths link, and it takes you to Auscisions page in 2013. Accordingly, I can confirm that all 3 reruns are just that with exact same numbers on wagons / carriages / sets as the previous run.
Sweet, the reruns not for me then.

ps, the E car sets are $100 dearer. Not bad for 3 years, but I spose Ebay is a guide as to what some are prepared to pay.
