Any comments, opinions from those who may have received or picked up their Aurora cars yet?

Picked up my 10 car set on Saturday, excellent models. Big improvement on Eureka's HUB Cars and on a par with their NCR Sets.

From the Sydney end MHN, NAM, LAN, NAM, LAN, DAM, RMS, BCS, LAN, NAM, LAN, NAM, LAN, PHN. Any shortening of the consist would see the NAM and LAN removed from the Sydney end followed by the removal of the LAN and NAM from the Melbourne end.

Thanks, 10 cars on the layout with the power van at the Melbourne end.  A single S handles it easily.  The lights on the vans are excellent.  I might try the 14 car version tomorrow.

The Auscision display case at Liverpool courtesy of their facebook page. Close examination reveals the second bottom shelf has painted samples of an ARTC ADFF and "Transport NSW" NDFF.

edit: note there are 2 types of ADFF livery/logos on the prototype. I'm sure both will be done in the rerun.

So when do we get some QHAH/BH/CH hoppers to pull behind our 5020/6000/6020 locos? Smile

Don't know if anyone got to see the V sets on display at the Liverpool expo? But to me they look really really nice, paint work is pin sharp and the stainless steel tone looks spot on. I do however think the blue on the Intercity set was a tad too dark, picky maybe but I can't remember them being that dark even ex works/repaint.

Hi

Are their any rumours of the Fletchers C44 being an unannounced Auscision livery floating around. Auscision are doing all the other colour schemes but not this one. Their was a mention on their Facebook page, but nothing since.

Short answer is "yes there's rumours.". Whether they're accurate or not you'll know pretty soon, no official word has yet been divulged.  BTW there's plenty of other c43/44 liveries that haven't been announced:
CF class "Black Caviar" CF4412
CF class Freightliner CF4407+CF4408
6000 class Original 6000 class livery with Aurizon logos on side, QRN logo on ends
6000 class Original 6000 class livery with Aurizon logos on side & ends
6000 class with ACA prefix
6020 class ACC6030-6032
FIE class (3 locos, Fletchers International)
MRL class (6 locos, Mineral Resources)
XRN class Glencore logo (ex Xstrata)
PHC class (2 locos, Crawfords Freightlines)

Hi

Never knew there were so many other liveries. But I haven't seen any of them on the Auscision Facebook page apart from the Fletchers ones.

I've been asked can someone post a picture of the front of the V-set in Blue Goose colours please?

There are two photos on the V Set Product Page on the Auscision web site.

I know that, but I forget to mention a photo of the front of a Blue Goose coloured model, not photos of the real sets. They're looking for a photo that shows the model's front, not half side on which is too hard to see.

Thanks, but the blue on the blue goose was definitely way too dark when we saw it the other day (darker than the picture), although I think a flash might have been used for the photo.

The blue on the Auscision blue-goose model is correct. They are however looking to lighten it a little to give it a more 'in service' look that most people remember.

The blue on the Intercity livery is wrong (factory error) and will of course be corrected.

Would I be correct, in the bottom of that Blue Goose colour was meant to look like an "I" for Interurban (even though they were included with the U-sets at the time)?

Does anyone know which way around the cars faced in the consist?
(Was the end of the cars with the external doors closer to the Sydney or Melbourne ends, or did some of the cars face different ways?)

I did read on a Facebook group that the roof air conditioning units all faced the Sydney end except for the RMS car which was reversed.

Newcastle Express would like to say "NPS-15 sold out BEFORE the original S.A. NPS-14 has not sold out yet????" Surprised.Surprised

Ditto for the Brisbane version Surprised

Edit - again: Re Blue Goose V-Set model. I wonder how the blue of the front would look like if it was outdoors, instead of indoor lighting?

Edit - again x2: What are the black (maybe holes ?) in the PHN vans?

    Paul,

I beg to differ!  The blue on the pilot models of the original V sets looks to be navy blue.  This is far too dark and contradicts all colour photos I have seen to date, and my memory (if it's correct) says it should be a mid blue colour, even when new and not weathered.

Another problem with the end panels of these pilot models is that the background is white.  It should be a very light grey and definitely not white.

    Happy colouring,

    John

Edit:-  Furthermore the light grey area should be a matt or satin finish, and definitely not glossy.
