Location: At the back of the train, quitely doing exactly what you'd expect.
  • A station
  • Always on a double-track section
  • Had a short-lived signal lever frame when opened
  • Never had any turnouts/pointwork (AFAIK)
  • Between 1927 and 1957, the stations either side had two signal boxes each.

Stations either side having two signal boxes each suggests that these would have been junction stations, so I will try Kensington, between Newmarket (Flemington junction) and North Melbourne.

Seddon?
  retromelb Chief Commissioner

Well done Crevat! Seddon opened in late-1906 with electrification taking place in 1920. Footscray (on the up) was down to 2 signal boxes during 1927-57.  Throughout this period Yarraville (on the down) also had two signal boxes.
