A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE
Our Central to Hamilon train terminated at Hawkesbury River, and the one in the other direction did the same, so passengers can swap trains. That's not the issue.
I asked what the fault was, the guard, he/she said it's due to faulty brakes. BUT instead towing it with another V-Set at Gosford Yard, it went back as a PASSENGER train.
Surely they would not let ANY traiin, no matter what type or age with faulty brakes return to Central Station as a passenger train, which our "allegardly" fauly train did. I observed that hardly any passenger in the Hamilton to Cental train knew that they had to change trains at Hawkesbury River. In our carriage, not one person knew the train was terminating at Hawkesbury River. While it;s cooler, the air-conditioning wasn't great on the second train.
Something tells me it's NOT a brake fault, especially as it went back to Central as a PASSENGER train.
Also this morning, the 04:29ish train from Hamiton to Central terminted at Cardiff. Whoever was on it was told to wait for the next train - 1 hour away.
This is about the upteenth V-Set brakedown I know about in the less than a few days - even before the hot weather, so NSW government not maintiaining trains to an acceptaable standard?
