I think we can all agree with the author that Yes Minister was a brilliant show. As for some of his other statements..
I reckon it wraps up where politics has gone wrong in Geelong. And Victoria and Australia. People don’t like the way democracy is working. And they don’t like the way politicians and bureaucrats mistreat them.
You were the bloody mayor of Geelong last year! Your incompetence is where politics went wrong (amongst many other things).
It took less time to get to Melbourne in the 1800s
How moronic was closing the Tullamarine Freeway to build one extra lane? Costs millions but it needs at least four lanes; you’ll only end up paying through the nose building them one at a time.
They squeeze an extra lane into the Westgate that fills up immediately, add a lane to the Western Ring Road that fills up immediately.
Every time they add lanes, traffic gets worse. Let's build FOUR more lanes! That'll fix it.
The electorate has to wake up to the con-jobs of major projects. So many cost a fortune but achieve Sweet Fanny Adams.
Pollies are using Band-aids on torn arteries. They’re rolling over to squatters in houses you need to bulldoze for roads and trains to help five million other people. Letting violent druggies and no-hopers occupy Flinders St.
Major projects are con-jobs. How dare the government not build the East-west con-job!
Also apparently it would have helped FIVE MILLION people.
PS homeless people are filth.
That’s why I reckon a new thing I’m part of is important. It’s the State Opposition’s Victorian Population Taskforce. It’s aimed squarely at making sure Geelong, and Victoria, have the things a rapidly-growing population needs.
We’ve got too many jobs for the boys as it is.
I'm a member of the Liberal party and I'm joining a Liberal party taskforce, not long after being kicked out of the mayor's office for running a dysfunctional government.
*A few sentences later*
There are too many jobs for the boys!
There are some very legitimate concerns, but they are buried under a whole load of drivel.
