Firstly my apology's if this question has already asked and answered, if it has please direct me to the post cause i have not found it.

Anyway, on my way to visiting my sick grandfather over the past week I've noticed that chain link fence has been thrown up and some earthwork has occurred at where the new maintenance & stabling yard is to be built at Pakenham East.

I'm just wondering if they have actually started building it or is this just something else?

Looks like the test track connects to the main line via a grade separated junction (underpass). That seems a bit excessive.

It looks like that track is just a turnback between the workshop and stabling yard. I guess to cover the times they need to turn a set?  The access to the main lines would be at the western end, out of sight of the camera.

huh, thats weird, didnt see anything about the new depot when I went to Sale yesterday. New depot must be quite out of the way I guess.

I went there today to take some photos from Oakview Lane - which is at the down end and really needs to be sealed since it's the only way to access the site by road.
I kept an eye out for the place with the sky rail sections, but didn't spot anything. Can anyone tell me where it is in case I'm out that way again?

So trains will enter from the western end just after the Princes Freeway. Will this require re-electrification? Or does the electrification still continue that far?

Re-electrification "I understand" (happy to be proven wrong)  

(The old overhead catenary was life expired, and needed removal for maintenance cost efficiency reasons)

Alternatively, pull down the wires but leave the stanchions.

Prefab concrete factory is a few km away from the depot location, here. The site bounded by Koo-wee-rup Road, Commercial Drive, Greenhills Rd & Southeast Blvd.
