Northwest Rail Road Trip

  gw0071 Deputy Commissioner

I am considering a photographic road trip to the North West this month, probably as far as Werris Creek. Are any particular days better than others wrt movements at this time of year or is it a case of luck just like everywhere else?

Any good location recommendations?

Might cut across to the North Coast line on the return journey

Thank you

Looks like there's some ballast drops around Kankool, Togar and Parkville at various times from the 18th to the 22nd before it returns to Port Waratah on the 25th.

FL17, an ultrasonic test vehicle is running Muswellbrook-Ardglen during the day on the 16th, Ardglen-The Creek on the 17th and the lower Hunter the following week.

Busy all the time with coal traffic.

Have heard the grain might be slowing down a bit this month though - yet to be confirmed.
